Susan Regan, host of CT Valley Views recently had a vigorous conversation with Joseph Markley, an astute veteran American politician who was a member of the CT state senate representing the
16th state district from 2011 to 2019.
As always, Mr. Markley was unabashed in his responses which provides a thoughtful and objective view and what happened on November 5, 2024.

FOCUS ON THE AMERICAN SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF
CT Valley Views, recently visited the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, CT. It is the oldest permanent school for the deaf in the United States. It was founded in 1817 by Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet and serves the deaf and hard of hearing students from ages 3-21. The school was originally called the American Asylum at Hartford for the education and instruction of the deaf and was the first school for deaf children anywhere in the western hemisphere.
This is one of CT's major educational historical contributions that has provided an international template for those 3 -21 years of age who are by challenged the lack of social communication skills necessary to be personally successful and productive contributors to society. See www.ASD-1817.org for more information and the opportunity to donate to ASD.

Electric Shock -Explaining the Cause
Sen. Republican Minority Leader Stephen Harding digs deep on the critical concern of CT taxpayers who are asking why electric bills have skyrocketed this summer.
This is a must see segment to understand the "Public Benefits" segment of every household’s and business’s electric bills which is the source of this burgeoning financial hardship. It contains line-item charges that have been legislatively mandated and could easily be covered by the State budget to absorb the costs rather than passing them along to the electric companies' (Eversource and United Illuminating) customers.
This should be a bi-partisan effort, but not only is this one of the greatest fiscal challenges for families but to add insult to injury, Governor Lamont is ignoring the strong request by Republican legislators to have a special session to address the obfuscation of such information. The percentage of "Public Benefits" section is the second largest portion of Eversource bills and is now adding a $3.00 addition to cover the establishment of EV chargers despite the fact that less than 1 % of registered vehicles in CT are EV's.
Do not miss seeing Senator Harding's frank and forthright commentary and go to www.Specialsessionct.com to petition for a special session rather than waiting until January 2025. Time is of the essence with winter approaching, particularly for the elderly and those on fixed incomes.
Challenging the Rainbow Mafia
This is a news bulletin for the woke BOE'S out there supporting underage transgender (under 18) therapy and puberty blockers without parents’ involvement, approval and confirmation (NOT affirmation) with mental health professionals are open to the irresponsible risks, dangers and mental anguish that are associated with these factions. Moreover, the fact that people outside the family are influencing children without parents' knowledge is unacceptable and should be subject to litigation. If a child is subjected to this type of indoctrination at 10 years old but at age 20 attempts suicide, does the "statute of limitations" run out on those who perpetrated the gender underage therapy and the resulting outcome?
Christine Rebstock is a transsexual woman who is the Executive Media Director of the LGBTS United (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual) very clearly opposes this underage gender therapy based upon her own personal experience and who as an adult faced a difficult journey through gender identity until her "coming out" at age 52.

Investigating the growing popularity of homeschooling
CTVV has identified the growing popularity of homeschooling and a key organization in providing an extensive opportunity for both current public-school children and parents to improve the current educational curricula. The benefit is not only a better one on one experience for the student population but successfully renews a positive relationship within the family without the exposure to the health risk, transgender subject matter and age-inappropriate sexual materials currently distributed in most public schools' agenda.
Our guest is Robert Bortins, CEO of Classical Conversations, a program created by parents for parents in a family-friendly approach to
homeschooling. Its concentration is on an historical format to provide comprehensive preparation for any secondary education institution, internship venues and/or career pursuits. The test score results of homeschooled students in many cases, from state to state, far exceed those who have only experienced a public-school syllabus.
This interview is important and informative for every mother, father and guardian who wishes to have a constructive educational option for their family and further underpins the objective for parents to take back the constitutional right to have authority regarding the youth of America.

Marissa Gillett, Chairman of PURA
CT Valley Views conducted a meaningful interview segment in December 2023 with Marissa Gillett, Chairman of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority as well as CT's Representative on the Board of Directors for the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, Inc (RGGI).
Because of the current escalating inflation affecting CT's electric consumers particularly in the NE, viewers will want to watch this informative segment to understand and ascertain PURA's fiscal responses on critical aspects of their electric rate charges and how consumers can mitigate the impact on both their business and personal pocketbooks.
Be sure to follow PURA' s continuing 2024 objectives at www.ct.gov/pura and contact them for questions at www.energizect.com regarding rates and concerns with their service.

Peter Wolfgang, Executive Director, The Family Institute of Connecticut
One of the most critical steps to solving the widespread concerns of CT parents and taxpayers is being addressed by The Family Institute of CT in a proposed bill "Let Parents Parent" which will be presented at the first Legislative Session in February 2024.
Susan Regan, Host of CT Valley Views, conducted a substantive interview with Peter Wolfgang, Executive Director of The Family Institute of Connecticut in December 2023. The key to obtaining sufficient attention from Legislators is to bring CT citizens up to date on the development and process of the subject matter.
During our dialogue, I brought Christine Rebstock into the conversation as she is a strong supporter for the loss of parental authority relative to their children's gender change health risks. The current CT Administration's Education Commissioner and AG General Tong position is more than the "camel's nose under the tent" as it dictates sanctioned directives to our State's respective 169 towns' Boards of Education. This proposed bill is a major shot across the bow in stemming the tide of toxic mandates that will be so harmful to the futures of our youth at such a vulnerable age. It is imperative that this bill get a hearing as Legislators will be aware, given their concern that a major proportion of their constituents are parents/caregivers, as well as taxpayers overall who want to know how their $'s are being spent. Further, the 2024 Presidential election will bring this subject into greater focus.
This is an Important bill that addresses many of the issues regarding parents, their children, family unity, student academics in Connecticut, public schools' academic curriculum, health risks to children regarding gender issues, and a myriad of challenges in our state that are confronted by parents with regard to their authority over their family’s future. Please consider supporting the expedited process of this "Let Parents Parent" proposed bill by contacting your district's Representative and all parties' Legislators.

Moms for Liberty
On Saturday, October 21, 2023, CT valley views attended a “Moms for Liberty” forum being held at the Avon, CT senior center. What greeted host, Susan Regan and executive producer/photographer, Bill Regan was a throng of protestors who called the forum attendees terrorists and fascists. The word terrorist is defined as "a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians in the pursuit of political aims".
A significant police presence was evident on the premises.
Inside the well-attended senior center Manju Gerber, President of "Moms for Liberty" of Hartford County led the forum. “Moms for Liberty” is a group of parents seeking to realign the education system to support their values. The event included guest speaker James Lindsay, an American author and cultural critic. A panel discussion followed.
As CTVV exited the senior center during a forum break and attempted to encourage free speech responses from the protestors, they were met with assaultive language and unresponsive dialogue. Thus, CTVV was unable to obtain any comprehensible sound bites. CTVV left the premises as it appeared that the crowd was trying to escalate their rhetoric to a more contentious level.

CT's Chief Information Security Officer
Jeff Brown, Chief Information Security Officer for the State of CT discusses the methods, objectives, and strategy to protect our State from potential cyber-attack threats.
Jeff was formerly a private Sector IT Security Veteran for major financial corporations including AIG, GE Capital, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch providing him with the skill set to assure that such financial challenges can be handled effectively. His knowledge and expertise, while leading a team of 15 members, is essential not only as Connecticut's administrative source for such activities, but the insight that he shares during this segment can be valuable to individuals and small to medium size companies. He believes that an investment in private cyber security programs for a newly established business is a wise decision before the horse is out of the barn. Scammers range from single man operations to a "network" of phishing groups who utilize phone calls, internet sites and social media to identify potential victims.
In 2022 it was announced that October is the month to recognize the importance of being prepared for such attacks and thus it is timely for our viewers to watch this segment.

GRANBY WELLS ROAD SCHOOL IN MEDIA FOCUS
Kyle Reyes, a self proclaimed "serial entrepreneur" who had no intention of ever getting involved in local politics but rather is a father of four children, husband and Christian conservative decided enough was enough when it came to the what he interpreted as inappropriate activities unilaterally originating from Wells Road Intermediate School in Granby, CT.
A June 7th Granby BOE public meeting provided a rather volatile venue regarding the Wells Road School's Principal's decision to show an explicit sexually oriented 40 second video to 4th and 5th graders and to distribute feminine hygiene tote bags to both both boys and girls in the fifth grade with a letter to parents providing an "op out" response but with a short fuse on requiring an answer.
Surprisingly, there was much support for the Principal's action, but Mr. Reyes felt that the room had been commandeered by the school administration to fill attendance to capacity with teachers while weeding out parents from being able to voice their opinion. Mr. Reyes has pulled his children out of the Granby School district classrooms and will home school. Mr. Reyes has been a guest on the nationally recognized Fox & Friends show as well as Prager U. as guest of Mr. Prager.
CTVV offered to interview anyone with their commentary or opposition opinion who seeks to provide it publicly. It also is inviting Pauline Greer, Principal of Wells Road School to be a guest on their show and/or debate Mr. Reyes via their program
taping.

Christine Rebstock – Transgender, Conservative and Outspoken
Christine is a brave and candid person who was born as a male but at 51 found the courage to come out and she stated, "it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders". She is a conservative who has suffered rebuke by Democratic CT notables due to her "right side" political stance, even though they claim, "inclusiveness of all".
She wants to share her personal journey and inform the public of the serious concerns regarding this alarming trend with current generations starting as young as kindergarten age.
For parents, families and youth struggling with the challenges being posed by the invasive agenda by educational institutions about gender dysphoria and sexual orientation. Parents are losing authority and control of their children's educational curriculum and sexual identity introduction. The indoctrination of students within the confines of academic venues without parent involvement or approval is dangerous, injurious mentally and physically.

Dr. Armando Fusco – The state of education in CT
Dr. Armand Fusco has had 40 years of experience at all levels of education. He retired as Superintendent of schools and then became Director of Interns at the University of Bridgeport for 10 years. He has written two books on various educational concerns hampering a successful future for our youth concerning the issues of CRT and all of the curriculum challenges facing parents with regard to their children's educational curriculum.
This is not true for all of CT Towns, but it is a significant concern particularly in minority cities such as Hartford, Bridgeport, New Britain, Waterbury, Bloomfield, and New Haven where the educational budget dominates the town budget, but has a failing grade for ROI. It is imperative that for our under-served minority parents that this issue be addressed from a tax perspective as taxpayers' $'s are not generating an accountable return on investment.

Focus on CT educational reform
CT Valley Views interviewed Guilford, CT residents Bill Maisano and David Holman who provided a very candid overview of the issues facing parents and their children relative to the BOE stance on the town's educational curriculum. CRT, sexually oriented courses and a broad liberal culture are at the center of their concerns. Mr. Maisano and Mr. Holman both are very adamant that parents should have a major say in what is taught in school. They view this as an invasive method to take away parental and constitutional rights and actually harm the students' ability to become independent and critical thinkers.

Monte Frank – Serve America Movement
The SAM CT Task Force was created in CT in 2019 to provide real competition to the two-party monopoly that has had a stranglehold on voters for decades and that forces candidates into partisan camps focused on reelection rather than issues that concern the voters of the Constitution State.
Our political system as we know it, both nationally and statewide in CT, has been under scrutiny with regard to the major parties and the historic way government officials are elected. Legislature differs in various ways state to state and many voters feel that respective candidates are not providing the level of quality and diversity they expect.
Monte Frank, Chair of SAM CT provides viewers with a comprehensive overview of SAM’s objectives, status and future goals in a guest segment that will enlighten all those in our State who, as taxpayers, have a vested interest in both their personal and Statewide governance and the economic future health.

Talking Trash with Mike Paine
Along with Governor Lamont's recent Executive Order to have CT be carbon-free by 2040 there are new regulations for recycling and trash for both private and commercial customers. CT CYBER SECURITY AT RISK
We all are aware of the daily issues of playing defense against a barrage of ransomware challenges when it comes to managing the personal and business information on our computers. We need to constantly monitor and update firewalls to protect our private and critical data on the internet or we become victims of nation states and/or mercenaries. In fact, even if you are "held hostage" for a financial ransom and you pay it, these thieves may actually be unable to restore your files to working order.
Now consider that any municipality or the entire State of CT could be be shut down within a few minutes without continuous scanning and use of comprehensive security systems - banks, hospitals and all public utilities would be a jeopardy paralyzing the entire grid. Be sure to watch this enlightening CTVV segment with Host Susan Patricelli Regan and her guest, Arthur House, Former Chief Cyber Security Risk Officer for the State of CT.

Long Term Care Insurance – What you need to know
Although we accept car, homeowners, dental and medical coverage insurance as a normal part of life; the average state resident is not aware or does not believe that they need LTC Insurance. What is of greater concern is the fact that CT has the dubious honor of being the second most expensive state for nursing home care at $414/day or over $150,000 per year? This means that when, either in later life or due to an early, unfortunate curtailment of physical independence one has to pay out of pocket to obtain the daily assistance for house cleaning, food preparation, personal hygiene or any combination thereof or the dependence on family members to provide this care.
Whatever health care program is established by our new Washington administration, it will not include this option but you can investigate a personal savings account with your employer.
It is important for you and your family to watch this CT Valley Views show segment with Susan Regan as your host and her guest David Guttchen, Director for CT Partnership for Long Term Care as he explains all risks, benefits and costs involved with this option to retain your dignity and independence should the need arise.

However, he has made it quite clear, that he will reform standard strategies of governing should he be elected November 6, 2018. Herbst was Trumbull's youngest person to be elected as First Selectman at age 29 and only narrowly lost the race for State Treasurer against incumbent Denise Napier in 2014. His success in turning around Trumbull's dire economic status during the recession in 2009 was accomplished through strategic negotiations on both sides of the aisle, reformulation of the town's fiscal process and a clear plan to "establish a municipal plan for the future" rather than the SOP of political rhetoric.
